I recently made some engagement ring cookies and painted them with pearl luster dust mixed with vodka for a shiny effect. The royal seemed to disentigrate when I painted on the luster dust. Did I have too much dust in the mixture or did they get too wet? Just wondering if you guys had ever had that happen. Also, has anyone sprayed cookies with the super pearl dust spray can? If so, how was it?

Thanks

You had too much liquid - the vodka will actually melt or dissolve the sugar in the RI I learned a few years ago that Everclear evaporates before it has time to eat away at the sugar, so I've used Everclear ever since. People always laugh at me when they find out all of my kids' birthday party favor cookies are laced with Everclear! LOL

I have used the spray can with great success - it works especially well for a nice subtle 'glistening' effect on the cookies.

That's good to know because whenever i would paint over RI dots, they would dimple in the middle and i never knew why.
Where do you get the spray can?

have you ever tried to dry brush the dust on??? That's what I do, and it's always worked for me!
